How to: Format numbers as currency on a report.
Solution:
In the Report Design view, select the desired control, select the 'View' menu and select 'Properties'. Select the 'Format' tab in the property sheet, and select the 'Currency' option from the 'Format' drop-down list.
NOTE 1: If the Database window is not active, activate the Database window.
NOTE 2: The data type must have already been defined in the Table Design view as either currency or number.
1) Click the 'Reports' tab in the Database window.

2) Select the desired report from the list box. (The selected report is highlighted.)
3) Click 'Design'. (The selected report appears in the Design view, and the Toolbox appears.)
4) Click to select the desired control. (Handles appear around the control.)

5) Select the 'View' menu and select 'Properties'. (The property sheet appears.)
6) Click the 'Format' tab.

7) Click in the 'Format' property box. (A down arrow appears.)
NOTE: The 'Format' property box will not be present unless the data type was already defined in the Table Design view as either currency or number.
8) Select the down arrow. (A drop-down list appears.)
9) Select the 'Currency' option.
NOTE: If currency is not an option, the data type is not defined as either currency or number in the Table Design view.

10) To close the property sheet, click the 'X' in the upper-right hand corner of the property sheet.

NOTE: The properties will be saved only when the design view is saved.
